The Opportunity:
  
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing Traffic Management Centre team where you will be responsible for monitoring road network operations, coordinating responses to incidents, and managing real-time information dissemination. Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring the state-controlled road network in real-time and initiating appropriate responses to operational issues.
  • Evaluating and coordinating responses to incidents, equipment faults, and maintenance issues in collaboration with service providers and emergency services.
  • Assisting with incident management, including diversion routes and multi-agency coordination.
  • Using CCTV and other intelligent transport systems to detect and verify traffic incidents and disseminate public traffic alerts via hotlines, websites, and roadside messaging.
  • Providing live traffic updates to media and ensuring accurate, timely communication with the public.
  • Maintaining detailed shift records, incident logs, and disruption databases to support operational reporting and compliance.

Your Skills & Experience:
  
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure in a live operational environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems, including real-time monitoring software and databases.
  • Excellent record-keeping and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in traffic operations, emergency services, control room, or similar environment will be highly regarded.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating shift roster, including weekends and public holidays, with additional hours during major events or emergencies.
