The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and forward-thinking Project Manager to join the team on a 6-month contract based in Cairns. In this role, you will help bring strategic initiatives to life—turning ideas into real-world outcomes that create lasting value for community members. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to scope, plan and deliver innovative, purpose-driven projects.
Your Skills & Experience:
- A degree in business, project management or a related field is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in user-centred design, agile or PMBoK delivery methodologies, and leading community-focused initiatives.
- Strong ability to think strategically while managing operational project execution.
- Skilled in research, prototyping, testing and development of new services, products or frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drive the end-to-end delivery of multiple community-focused projects, ensuring they’re completed on time, within scope and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships across government, corporate, and internal networks, ensuring effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Apply agile, adaptive methodologies to prototype, test and refine project ideas in fast-paced and evolving environments.
- Develop strong business cases, funding proposals, strategic documents, and delivery plans using evidence-based research, co-design, and engagement methods.
- Create project documentation including communication plans, risk registers, reports, and evaluation frameworks to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Lead discovery and design processes to uncover community needs, validate ideas, and translate insights into viable solutions.
- Prepare high-quality visual artefacts that effectively communicate complex strategies and concepts to varied audiences.
