In-House Contracts Lawyer
Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified legal professional to join their In-House Contracts team.

Our client is a major service provider operating across North Queensland, extending as far north as the Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait Islands, and west to Mount Isa and the Gulf of Carpentaria. They deliver a wide range of programs and support services to communities across the region.
The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking an experienced in-house lawyer for their dynamic and busy team. Critical thinking and analysis skills are crucial for this role as well as exposure to working with contracts from any area of law.
Your Skills & Experience:
Applicants must bring a minimum of 5 years PAE, a positive communication style and the ability to work autonomously and as a team. The work varies greatly so the successful applicant would need to work through numerous questions and possess mental agility. Responsibilities would include, but not limited to:
Drafting and Reviewing Contracts
Prepare, review, and revise a variety of contracts to ensure clarity, compliance, and alignment with organisational goals.
Legal Risk Management
Identify potential legal risks in agreements and recommend appropriate safeguards, particularly in relation to industry-specific laws and regulations.
Compliance Assurance
Ensure all contracts comply with legislation and reflect current legal standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work with internal departments to align contracts with operational needs and risk tolerance.
Contract Management and Tracking
Maintain organised records of contracts and monitor key dates for renewals, expirations, and required reviews or updates.
It is expected that you can also deliver:
- Sound technical and legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters
- Demonstrated ability to undertake a high level of drafting contracts
- Solid exposure in managing client relationships with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Posses strong work ethic and be highly motivated
- Willing and able to develop new skills
Several checks may be required for this role including medical, police check and others.
