The Opportunity:
  
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Business and Finance Manager to join a dynamic and values-driven organisation headquartered in Cairns. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and managing a small finance team, this role is critical to supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring robust financial performance across several entities.

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the full finance and accounting function, ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of all financial reporting across multiple entities.
  • Deliver monthly management reports covering revenue, gross margins, inventory value, expenses, and other key business metrics.
  • Maintain and monitor accurate cash flow forecasts while managing daily, weekly, and monthly payment cycles.
  • Ensure all statutory compliance and tax obligations, including BAS and payroll, are met with precision.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and operations teams to align inventory levels and purchasing decisions with business forecasts.
  • Support the Managing Director with the preparation of annual budgets and business planning initiatives.

Your Skills & Experience:
  
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong mix of technical capability, commercial acumen, and leadership experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of post-graduate accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity or product-based environment.
  • CA or CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to translate numbers into actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of foreign exchange risk management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and interpret financial reports that support business performance and strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
